From your base at Nautilus Lodge, in 20 minutes you can be lazing on the beach at Kaiteriteri or enjoying the many activities that are on offer.
From kayaking to seal swims, you can be sure to fill your day up with unique experiences and lots of fun. You can also go on a boat cruise where you can get off at one of the many bays to do short or longer walks, or just sit on a beach and have a picnic among the most picturesque scenery in New Zealand.
We are also the pick-up point for wine tours, water taxis and kayaking if you do not want to drive.
For the anglers, we have great brown trout fishing in the Motueka River but if that is not for you, we can advise on local wine tours where you can taste the best of the region. There are numerous cycle and walking trails for those who love getting back to nature. Nautilus Lodge is walking distance to town and there are plenty of unique shops to pick up a souvenir of your holiday.
Abel Tasman Canyons provides exciting guided canyoning trips. They take you to stunning places and help you to take a step out of your comfort zone. Slide down water polished chutes, jump into crystal clear pools and abseil through showering waterfalls.

We have an annual mid-winter "Festival of Lights" which is on mid-June for 2 weeks when the town lights up to ward off the chills of winter. This is a wonderful event for the children and gives the town a festive look in the middle of winter. Great photos for the album!
We are situated on the main road in Motueka, just past the main shops heading north. Only a 5-minute walk to town but far enough out so you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Motueka is the gateway to Golden Bay and Abel Tasman so it's a perfect place to make your base while you discover and experience the wonders of our surrounding area.
There are some great restaurants in the area. Our guests rave about Simply Indian, the Chokdee Thai restaurant and also The Gothic, all of which are situated on Motueka's High Street within easy strolling distance from the motel. A short drive away there is Hooked on Marahau and The Apple Shed Café & Bar, both of which have received great reviews from our guests. So there are plenty of wonderful restaurants to choose from no matter what your tastes.
